Roman Salad Days

When at this time of year we are in our New York office, we dream of the sorts of salads we have every day in Italy, and almost take for granted.   Where are the best salads to be found ?  We suspect that they may come from the Rome’s Lazio region which is fortunate to have four distinct seasons including a real winter, but mild enough that many delectable things grow in the fields between November and March.

When in wintertime we land in Rome we always plan our first lunch at Ristorante Il Cortile, Via Alberto Mario 26.  Our spirits and tired selves immediately perk at the vegetable and salad offerings from the splendid  table.  Please ask us for details, or if you would like a booking here for your own first Roman lunch.
