Our Hotels

Every one of our hotels is delightful and special and unique, from our treehouse hotel nearly on the Tuscan border to converted monasteries to Renaissance villas to restored farmhouses to 18th century palaces to wine and olive oil estates.

What each one of them shares is the warmth of the welcome you will find (we always give names of owners, directors or favorite concierges whom you should turn to as friends.)

Almost without exception we book by room number.

You will always have the best accommodation within your preferred price category.

And their locations are consistently superb.  City center hotels are just that, right in the heart of the historic area, and selected such that you can do everything on foot.

Most of our Insider’s accommodations are owner-managed, and nearly all are at least a four-star standard, with many five-stars as well and a few unusual three-stars. We return often to each to make sure that they continue to meet our criteria.
