Getting Away : Italian Places for the Holidays

You are not planning the holiday time in Italy ?

Pardon me ?  Sorry ?  I may have missed that.

You are not ?

And why is that ?

Italians love this season so much that they commemorate it for an entire month, beginning on December 8th. The period between mid-December and early January was one constant celebration even in pagan Rome. It began with the Saturnalia, a winter solstice festival, and ended with the Roman New Year, the Calends. Emperor Constantine extended the holiday to January 6, Epiphany.

Crowds are thinned, allowing serene enjoyment.

There is considerable feasting, at least six major events, and you will be fully immersed in each of these.

The skies in Rome and Amalfi are mostly that Italian cerulean blue, and the sun shines most days.

Holiday lights are tasteful and not overdone.

Come and join us for reflection, beauty, companionship and freedom from the need to buy. Italy is pure magic at Christmas.

This year, get away and let us plan that magic for you.
