I asked Gustavo to tell me about his experiences working with our travelers.

My first job for Insider’s Italy, if I remember correctly, was in 1995 with two of your clients.  They were extraordinary people and quite demanding; fortunately, for me but also for them, the trip was a success. Since then I have provided Insider’s Italy travelers with personal transfers from the Rome airport into the city center, and vice versa; long distance transfers across Italy and finally tours that take place over several days or a week or more in which I am totally committed to taking care of the clients, trying to make their stay in Italy unforgettable. I must say that in 25 years of working together, we have had many more successes than failures. Indeed to be honest I don’t remember any failures.

After all this time it is not easy to list the things that give me the most satisfaction in my relationship with Insider’s Italy. There are so many.The first that come to mind is the great trust that Marjorie places in me, the possibility that I am granted to engage so fully in planning programs, choosing and recommending new destinations and experiences that I have personally discovered.  As our work is a true collaboration, we together generate a highly respectable final outcome. 

Every tour service I have offered Insider’s Italy clients has been special, and choosing the most significant one is not easy because each gave me UNIQUE sensations not comparable to others. A bit like when travelers ask me which is the most beautiful Italian city, in my opinion.  I answer : “It doesn’t exist because each one is beautiful and unique to itself.” However, what I always remember with immense pleasure was one of the first trips with Insider’s Italy, for the Lang family who travelled in Sicily, a great experience, a deeply personal trip, an adventure that totally absorbed me. 

What differentiates Insider’s Italy travelers from others I have met is their high degree of interest and culture. Rare is an Insider’s Italy traveler who is not fully prepared intellectually for a trip. The other thing that makes them special is how friendly and approachable they are.  This allows me to always feel at ease and encourages warm and open communication.
